This lot is a collective effort from nearly 800 smallholder farmers in Nensebo, West Arsi. Grown at high elevations, the coffee benefits from cool temperatures and slow cherry maturation, which enhance bean density and flavor clarity. Farmers cultivate a mix of traditional Ethiopian heirloom and selected JARC varieties (74158, 74110, 74112), often using intercropping systems to support biodiversity and sustain their livelihoods.
After harvest, the coffee undergoes a washed process with a small fermentation stage. This light fermentation promotes clarity while unlocking nuanced aromatics. Careful washing and drying techniques ensure that the unique terroir of Nansebo is preserved from farm to cup.
In the cup, expect a lively, elegant profile. Notes of citrus, prune, and stone fruit offer brightness and depth, while a coating chocolate sweetness adds balance. Excellent as both espresso and filter.
