

Idido Yirgacheffe Natural Green
Yirgacheffe, nestled in Southern Ethiopia’s Sidamo region, is celebrated as a coffee micro-region renowned for its exceptional washed coffees. Farmers here use traditional, organic methods, intercropping coffee with food crops while avoiding chemical fertilizers and pesticides. Most farms are smaller than 5 hectares and grow local landrace or JARC-developed disease-resistant varieties.
Farmers handpick ripe cherries and deliver them to washing stations, where the cherries are meticulously sorted and dried on raised beds for 16 to 21 days. Training programs further enhance cherry quality by focusing on harvesting and transport best practices.
Ethiopian coffee, especially from Yirgacheffe, is treasured for its remarkable flavor diversity, rooted in the country’s unparalleled genetic variety, time-honored cultivation practices, and careful processing methods. Expect a cup that reflects this rich heritage and dedication to quality.
